Trent Franks

Trent Franks ( born June 19, 1957 in Uravan, Montrose County, Colorado) is an American politician. Since 2003 he represents the second electoral district of the State of Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years

Trent Franks attended Ottawa University in Kansas. He then worked for the " Liberty Petroleum Corporation ", whose president he became later. Over four years, he was managing director of the Arizona Family Research Institute, a non- profit oriented on society for the protection of children and families in Arizona.

Political career

Frank was a member of the Republican Party. From 1985 to 1987 he was a deputy in the House of Representatives from Arizona. There, he was Vice President of the Trade Committee. He held the same position in a sub-committee for the protection of youth and families. In 1987 he was appointed by Governor Evan Mecham for youth officers of the State Government of Arizona. In 1994 he was defeated in the primaries of his party when he sought the nomination in the fourth electoral district in Arizona for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2002, he was then for the newly formed second constituency with 60 % of the vote against Randy Camacho selected ( 37%) of the Democratic party in the U.S. Congress. Two years later he defended this mandate again against Camacho, this time with 59:38 per cent of the vote.

The congressional elections of 2006 and 2008 he won with 59% of the votes against John Thrasher. He represented the company since January 3, 2003 State of Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a member of the legal committee and the Armed Services Committee. He advocates a nationwide ban on online poker games and questions the appropriateness of global warming. His current term of office runs until 3 January 2011. Franks is married to his wife Josephine in 1980.

Political statements

Trent Franks called President Barack Obama as an "enemy of humanity ". The legislation, the U.S. women granted the right to abortion, Franks looked worse than the U.S. policy of slavery.
