Turkish Super Cup

The TFF Süper Kupa ( German: TFF Super Cup ) is an annual cup competition of the Turkish Football Federation. The first edition of this competition was held in 2006. In this cup competition, the Turkish champions play against the Turkish Cup winners. Should the master be cup winners, moves to the Cup finalist.

History

The competition was for the first time in 1966 ( German: Presidents Cup ) under the name Cumhurbaşkanlıği Kupası discharged. In the final, Istanbul Beşiktaş and Galatasaray Istanbul stood as a Turkish champion against a Turkish Cup winners. In 1968 Fenerbahçe Istanbul to attend the Cup without a final. The team was champion and cup winner, so the final was not recognized. Göztepe Izmir won in 1970 as the first team outside Istanbul the title. Except Göztepe Izmir succeeded MKE Ankaragucu Trabzonspor and the same. Trabzonspor won the trophy in 1977 as the first team after a penalty shootout. Four years later, the cup competition in Devlet Başkanlığı Kupası was ( German: Head of State Cup ) renamed. From 1983, the term Cumhurbaşkanlıği Kupası was used again. The last final was played under the name 1998.

After eight -year break, the Supercup was introduced in 2006 under the name Süper Kupa again.

Turkish Supercup in Germany

Settling in Germany was established by the Secretary General of the Turkish Football Federation Lutfi Arıboğan in 2006 when one of the many followers of the Turkish football in Germany and also wants to offer the opportunity to see the two best teams in the last season live in a real competition. In Frankfurt am Main, Cologne and Duisburg these finals were played. 2009 competition in Turkey was held in Istanbul.

Playoffs

2006

The first edition of the competition won Beşiktaş Istanbul against Galatasaray with a goal by Mert Nobre 1-0. The match took place in Frankfurt at the Commerzbank Arena.

2007

The second Supercup took place on 5 August 2007 at the Cologne Rhein Energie Stadion return to Germany. The team Fenerbahce won 2-1 against Beşiktaş Istanbul.

2008

The final game of the 2007/08 season between Galatasaray Kayserispor was held on August 17, 2008 in the MSV Arena in Duisburg. Winner of the match was Galatasaray.

2009

The finale in 2009 was held for the first time in Turkey in Atatürk Olympic Stadium (Istanbul). Also for the first time played with Beşiktaş Istanbul, both the league and cup. Opponent was the Cup finalists Fenerbahçe Istanbul.

2010

In the Turkish Super Cup in 2010 participated for the first time in this competition, no team from Istanbul part. In addition, Bursaspor and Trabzonspor played for the first time to the Turkish Super Cup. Trabzonspor won the game 3-0.

2011

Due to the suspicion of manipulation which, scheduled for 27 October 2011 discharge was postponed to a later date and not discharged until today, on 19 July 2011.

2012

On August 12, 2012, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were for the first time over in the final of the Turkish Super Cup.

2013

On August 11, 2013 met again Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe Istanbul meet, like last year.

The winner gets the premium in the amount of € 1.5 million and the loser, however, only 1.15 million.
