Victor de Tornaco

Baron Victor de Tornaco (* July 7, 1805 at Schloss Sterpenich, Arlon, † September 26, 1875 at Castle Voort, Limburg ) was a Luxembourgian politician.

Life

Victor de Tornaco studied in Paris at the École polytechnique. In the years after the Belgian Revolution he was a follower of the first King of the Netherlands, William I. From 1841 to 1848 he was a member of the Assemblée des États, 1848-1856 Member of the Chamber, and then again in the re-imported Assemblée des États.

On September 26, 1860 Victor de Tornaco was, after the resignation of Charles -Mathias Simons, Minister of State, Government President and General (Minister ) for External Relations and in addition to 1864 for public transport. Victor de Tornaco signed on 11 May in 1867 with Emmanuel Servais the major Luxembourg for the second Treaty of London.

On December 3, 1867 his government was forced to resign by a vote of no confidence. The reason were the allegations of the opposition, the government has taken in the negotiations of London is far too passive attitude. He was succeeded by Emmanuel Servais.
