Victoria (Laguna)

Victoria is a Philippine municipality in the province of Laguna. It has 34,604 inhabitants ( census 2010).

Geography

Victoria is located on the southeastern shore of Laguna de Bay, 90 km south of Manila and bordered by the municipalities of Calauan and Nagcarlan the southeast and Pila to the northwest. The municipality has a land area of 22.83 km ².

Victoria was until 15 November 1949, a hamlet of Pila, as Victoria were detached together with eight other districts of Pila a separate municipality formed. The name comes from the name Victoria daughter of President Elpidio Quirino.

Barangays

Victoria is politically subdivided into nine barangays. Two of these are urban, the others are rural.
