Villers-lès-Roye
Villers- lès- Roye ( Picard: Viler -lès- toe) is a northern French village with 238 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du Grand Roye Roye, in the canton.
Geography
The church in the countryside Santerre is approximately 5 km west of Roye at the department of road D54 and managed by the Department Avre in the south and the road D934 (formerly Route nationale 334) bounded on the north.
History
The village was destroyed during the siege of Roye in 1653. It was destroyed in the First World War in August 1918 during the Hundred Days Offensive again. The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
