Wiepke is a town and a district of the Hanseatic City Guard Insert in the Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

The place is located on the B 71 north of Old Guard Set between the hamlets Zichtau, Engersen and Estedt on the northern edge of the bright mountains. Southwest of the local situation, the fen Eleven sources from which the stream originates Wiepker is.

History

Due to a change in the contract area, the municipal council of the municipality Wiepke decided on 28 May 2009, that the church Wiepke is incorporated in the Hanseatic city Gardelegen. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.

After incorporation of the previously independent community Wiepke is Wiepke district of the Hanseatic city Gardelegen. For powered finished my community the village constitution according to § § 86 et seq of the Municipal Code of Saxony- Anhalt is introduced. The municipality is my finished Wiepke and future district Wiepke is the village of receiving Hanseatic City Guard Set. In the eingemeindeten community and nunmehrigen village Wiepke a Ortschaftsrat is formed with seven members including a mayor.

Attractions

  • The village church Wiepke is a late Romanesque built of fieldstone monument of the 12th century. Therefore Wiepke was included in the Romanesque Road.
  • Also a remarkable water mill of the 17th century, the Reichwaldsche mill located in the village. Pentecost is there a mill day traditionally held, is presented in the medieval craft of the region.
