World Hockey Association 2
The World Hockey Association 2 ( WHA2 ) was a former minor league hockey that their teams in the southern U.S., especially in Florida, had.
The name is a reference to the former professional league World Hockey Association from the seventies, which was founded as a rival league to the NHL. The WHA2 and the South East Hockey League ( SEHL ) were founded in the summer of 2003, when the teams of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League ( ACHL ) leaked. As the SEHL also held the WHA2 by only the 2003/04 season. From both leagues turn some teams founded in the summer of 2004, then the Southern Professional Hockey League ( SPHL ).
Jacksonville was also the venue for the WHA2 All-Star Game and the only champion of the President Cup of WHA2.

Season 2003/ 04
The 2003/04 season was the only season of the World Hockey Association 2 The six teams completed in the regular season 48-59 encounters. The point of best team in the regular season were the Jacksonville Barracudas, which also won the champion's title in the play- offs.
