Florida Seals

The Florida Seals were an American ice hockey team from Orlando, Florida (from 2005 Kissimmee, Florida). The team was from 2002 to 2007 in various professional leagues.

History

The team was founded in 2002 under the name Orlando Seals as a franchise of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League. In this they occupied in their debut season in first place after the regular season, for which they received the Commissioner's Cup and were in the playoffs honored as Master of the President's Cup. When the league was disbanded after only one year, the team of the World Hockey Association 2 joined. Also this League was only a year long active, so that the Seals joined the succession competition Southern Professional Hockey League. After disagreements with the management of the Arena TD Waterhouse Centre, the Seals had to the season 2004/ 05 expose and then were transferred to the Silver Spurs Arena. In addition, we changed the team name from the stadium altered place in Florida Seals.

In the SPHL the Florida Seals reached immediately the final, subject to there, however, the Knoxville Ice Bears. Due to financial problems the franchise early January 2007, was withdrawn from the game operation and excluded from the league.
