Macon Trax

The Macon Trax were an American ice hockey team from Macon, Georgia. The team played from 2002 to 2005 in various professional leagues.

History

The team was founded in 2002 as a franchise of the inaugural Atlantic Coast Hockey League. In this they occupied in their debut season in third place and eliminated in the playoffs already in round one from. After the league was disbanded after only one year, the team the Jacksonville Barracudas joined the World Hockey Association 2 in which they finished in third place after the regular season and in the playoffs in the final in the best-of -three series with 0:2 victories subject. The WHA2, which was named in accordance with the World Hockey Association, which was in direct competition with the National Hockey League from 1972 to 1979, there was only one season long. Once again, the Macon Trax joined its successor league and played in the 2004/05 season in the Southern Professional Hockey League. Following the 2004/ 05 season, the franchise of the Macon Trax was dissolved.
