Zavar

Zavar is a place and a municipality in the Trnavský kraj Okres Trnava in western Slovakia. The earliest documented mention of the village was carried out in 1255 under the name Zovvor. The number of inhabitants amounted to 31 December 2007 (calculated ) to 2078 people.

Zavar is located southeast of the city of Trnava, close to the D1 motorway, the river Dolna Blava. In the area of the village, large parts of the Peugeot car factory was built to manufacture the Peugeot Citroën.

Zavar the birthplace of the composer Gejza Dusík (1907-1988) as well as the soccer player Ľuboš Hanzel 's (* 1987).
