Zbraslav (Brno-Country District)

Zbraslav ( German Sbraslaus, also Zbraslau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers southeast of Velka Bites and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Zbraslav located in the highlands Křižanovská voda on a hill on the right side above the valley of Bila. In Zbraslav flow the streams Dolina and Žleb. Southwest of the village is a military area. Southeast is located in the valley of Bila voda the extinct settlement Lhotka.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1222 as the registration of possession of Gerhard Zbraslav (Gerhard ze Zbraslavi ), who was the progenitor of the Lords of Kunštát.
