Zell am Moos

Zell am Moos is a municipality in Upper Austria in Vöcklabruck district in Hausruckviertel with 1533 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Mondsee.

Geography

Zell am Moos is located at 573 m altitude in Hausruckviertel on the east bank of the Irrsee. The expansion is 7.6 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 6.2 km. The total area is 24.5 km ². 39.2 % of the area is forested, 41.2 % of the area is used for agriculture.

Administratively, the site consists of only a cadastral district, but they are still different to the main town around distinguished existing villages: Fire Instead, width-, Enter ditch, alleys, Gollau, Greith, Harpoint, Haslau, Haslau mountain, houses, Heißing, Kohlstatt, Lindau, Oberschwand, Under Schwandstrasse and Vormoos.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Humiliated shared with sea wave cut; top in gold from the dividing line growing a green, in the form of a bent-in, ousted peak outward sloping sea grass, about a red, finished with a silver heraldic lily disc; below in blue three silver shaft threads, where the top abuts the dividing line. The municipality colors are green and yellow.

The coat of arms was granted in 1985 and refers to the blue waves and the reeds on the location of the place at Mondsee, the one entirely to the municipality. The lily was the emblem of the Mondseer Abbot Celestine piston removed, the former branch church had renovated ( the parish church ) in 1672, and is also located above the portal of the church. Simultaneously, the lily is a symbol for Mary for the patronal feast of the Assumption.

History

The municipality is 1107 for the first time as an economic cell ( hence the name " cell " ) mentions the monastery Mondsee. Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. In 1991 the municipality had 1,190 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 1390 inhabitants.
