Židněves

The community Židněves includes an eponymous village in Okres Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. In December 2007, there were 290 inhabitants.

Geography

The village lies in a fertile, intensively agricultural plain in the valley of the brook Klenice, a left tributary of the Jizera. The center of the district capital Mladá Boleslav is 6.5 kilometers away to the west. Direct neighboring towns are Brezno in the south, Plazy in the West, Dolni Lhota Stakory and Husí in the north and in the east Sukorady.

Through the middle of the village, the first order # 16 of Mladá Boleslav runs to Jičín, which is one of the busy roads of the region. In 2005, here is a traffic volume of 14,000 vehicles per day was measured.

History

The first mention of the town dates from 1255th This year the Vladike Malhost de Schidinawes appears as the owner of the local rule in a Latin document. 1302 was the ownership of at Benesch von Wartenberg. Under King Wenceslas II of the place received market rights. From 1558 to 1850 he belonged to the neighboring Brezno.

  • On the village square stands the Chapel of St. Anna from the year 1866.
  • The Baroque statue of St. Wenceslas and reliefs of St. Florian and St. John of Nepomuk come from the second half of the 18th century.
