... From the Pagan Vastlands is a demonstration of the extreme metal band Behemoth. It was recorded in December 1993 in Warrior Studio and released in February of Pagan Records .. At the time of recording frontman Nergal was only 17 years old. An eponymous song also appeared on the debut album Sventevith ( Storming Near the Baltic ).
The Complete Music was written by Nergal, the lyrics came from Nergal and Baal. Since V is a rare letter in the Polish alphabet, some of the early editions contained the misspelled title ... From the Pagan Wastlands.
Style
The sound of the album is raw and unpolished, but better than on the demo The Return of the Northern Moon before. The riffs are much more melodic, the songs faster. Behemoth played on this demo nordic inspired Black Metal from the " extreme metal complex of the present day [ ... ] still far away " is.
