111 Huntington Avenue

111 Huntington Avenue is a 2002 finished skyscrapers in the city of Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. The skyscraper is as much as the larger Prudential Tower to the Prudential Center complex, and received the Emporis Skyscraper Award 2002 in bronze. 111 Huntington Avenue is one with 169 meters height to the highest office towers of Boston.

Design

The roof of the building consists of an open frame which is shaped as a stylized crown and is illuminated at night. The original design called for a flat roof, which was rejected by Mayor Thomas Menino. Due to the similarity of the roof to the androids R2 -D2 from Star Wars, the building is also sometimes called R2 -D2 Building.

The building is located in the Back Bay district on a 23 acres ( 93 078 sqm) large area and offers a total of 240,000 m² of office space and 58,000 m² for retailers. The parking garage is equipped with 3,660 parking spaces one of the largest of its kind in New England.
