Description

The design of 1250 René Lévesque - comes from the architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox and has similarities with the high-rise Westend Straße 1 in Frankfurt am Main. The skyscraper has a pronounced rectangular plan and is drawn into the north -south axis in the length. Particular emphasis the eastern and the western facade. Faces a residential area is the modernist western facade, with granite -clad walls and rectangular windows. Back Staggered floors give the appearance of multiple superimposed plates. In contrast, the commercial center facing postmodern east facade is dominated by an outwardly curved curtain wall, which extends over the southern corner. This gives the impression of a vertical " fin", highlighting the ease of building. The narrow northern façade includes a four-story atrium with winter garden and a food court on the mezzanine. 1250 René- Lévesque is connected to the Montreal underground city and through this with the Bonaventure metro station.
