1996 Oceania Athletics Championships

The third Athletics Ozeanienmeisterschaften found from 28 to 30 November 1996 in the Australian city of Townsville, Queensland instead. It 42 competitions were held, including 22 for men and 20 for women. Successful nation was the third time in a row, New Zealand (14 gold medals ) ahead of Australia (12 gold medals ); Successful Participant was the Tongan athlete Siulolo Liku with three gold and one silver medal. Four competitions of the women were killed by only one participant, five other disciplines, including one in men entered into only two athletes athletes respectively.
