1999 FIVB Women's World Cup

The Volleyball World Cup in 1999 was the eighth edition of the competition. He was held in Japan between the 2nd and the 16th of November. Cuba won the title. This competition was the same as the qualification for the Olympic Games 2000.

  • Cuba and the United States of America as a finalist in the NORCECA Championship 1999
  • Brazil Brazil and Argentina as a finalist in the 1995 South American Championship
  • Tunisia Tunisia as the winner of the 1999 African Cup of Nations
  • Italy Italy and Peru at the invitation of the FIVB.

Mode

The twelve participants played four rounds, where they were informally divided into two groups. The system was " every man for himself ". The first three teams were given a room for the 2000 Olympics, respectively.
