2005–06 New Zealand Football Championship

2005/06, hosted by the New Zealand Football Association New Zealand Football Championship went to the second season. By a 4-3 victory in a penalty shootout ( 3-3, 0-0 aet ) against Canterbury United Auckland City could defend the championship title.

In the regular season, each team played three times against each other. This was followed by the playoffs. A relegated was not played.

First played the second against the third ( game A). The winner played against the league First Auckland City ( Game D). Meanwhile dueled in Game C, the winner of the fourth game against fifth ( B) with the loser of the game A. The winner of the game C now joined in the semifinals against the loser of the game to D. In the final, then the winner of game D and semi-finals were over.
