2008–09 New Zealand Football Championship

From 8 November 2008 to 29 March 2009, the fifth New Zealand Football Championship was held. In the final, Waitakere United and Auckland City stood.

System

The system is changed. Everyone played only twice against each ( 14 games) and not, as previously three times. Moreover, this time the first four of the table for the play- offs, which were played in home and away matches qualified. The final took place as last year in the Douglas Field at Trusts Stadium instead.
