2007 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy

The 29th Champions Trophy in the men's hockey took place from 29 November to 9 December 2007 in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur instead. After 1993, this was the second time that the city was host this annual event of the world's best hockey nations. Originally the Pakistani city of Lahore was planned as a venue, but due to the tense security situation in Pakistan and the associated rejections of some participating countries chose the Hockey FIH World Association for the Move.

Participant

After the field hockey World Championship for Men 2006 in Monchengladbach following six national teams have been set by the FIH as a participant.

  • Australia Australia ( 2004 Olympic Champion and Vice World Champion 2006)
  • Netherlands Netherlands ( defending champion )
  • Pakistan Pakistan ( initially planned to host)
  • Germany Germany ( World Cup 2006)
  • Spain ( third in the 2006 World Cup )
  • Flag of South Korea South Korea ( fourth in the 2006 World Cup )

By moving the event to Malaysia further still the team was

  • United Kingdom United Kingdom ( England fifth in the 2006 World Cup )
  • Malaysia Malaysia ( host )
