2008–09 Polish Cup
The Puchar Polski 2008/ 09 was the 55th playout of the Polish Cup competition. He started on 30 July 2008 with the play-off for preliminary round and ended on 19 May 2009 with the final at the Slaski Stadium in Chorzow.
Lech Poznań won the national cup in his sixth finals for the fifth time. Playoff opponent Ruch Chorzów reached the finals for the eighth time and lost for the fifth time. By the Cup win, Lech Poznan qualified for participation in the third qualifying round of the Europa League 2009 /2010.
Defending Legia Warsaw eliminated in the semifinals.

Qualifying matches for the first round
The qualifying matches for the first round were held with eight of the 32 regional representatives from the provinces on 30 July 2008.
Preliminary round
The preliminary matches with the winners of the qualifying matches for the first round and the 24 remaining regional teams took place on August 13, 2008.
First round
The matches of the first round took place on 26 and 27 August 2008. It was attended by the 14 winners of the preliminary matches and the 18 teams in the second league. Stal Stalowa Wola received a bye, since it had been drawn against an opponent Polonia Warsaw. Polonia took the place of Dyskobolia Grodzisk in the Ekstraklasa and reached only in the 2nd round in a competition.
2nd round
The matches of the second round took place on 23 and 24 September and 7 October 2008. It was attended by the 16 winners of the first round as well as the 16 teams in the Ekstraklasa.
Round 3
The games of the 3rd round took place on 28 and 29 October 2008.
Quarterfinals
The games were played in home and away matches. The former first teams had home advantage. The first legs were on the 4th, 17th and 18th March 2009 the return legs on April 7th and 8th, 2009.
Semifinal
The former first teams had home advantage. The first legs took place on 6 and 7 May, 2009 at 29 and 30 April, the return games.
