2011 Baseball World Cup

The Baseball World Cup 2011 was the 39th edition of the Baseball World Cup and took place from 1 to 15 October 2011 in Panama instead. The four venues were Aguadulce, Chitre, Panama City and Santiago. At the tournament a total of 16 teams took part.

Became world champion for the first time the team of the Netherlands, which in the final prevailed 2-1 record champions Cuba. The Netherlands was the second European champion since the Amateur World Series in 1938, which was won by Great Britain.

Phase 1

Phase 1 of the World Cup took place from the 1st to the 10th of October 2011 and was discharged in two groups. The four best teams in the two groups qualified for the next round.

Group 1

The games in Group 1 were held in Aguadulce, Panama City.

1 The Game Japan - United States has been moved to October 5 due to rain from the second. 2 The game Greece - Chinese Taipei was moved from 8th to October 10th due to rain. 3 The game Panama - United States moved from 8th to October 10th due to rain.

Group 2

The games in Group 2 were held in Chitre and Santiago.

Phase 2

Phase 2 took place until October 14, 2011 of 11. In the second phase of each qualified team plays against each of the qualified teams from the other group. The two best teams in the overall standings after the second phase will qualify for the finals.

Group 3

The games in Group 3 were played in all four of the cities. The games of October 11 were in Chitre and Santiago, the and held on 12 October in Aguadulce and Santiago on 14 October and in Aguadulce, Panama City.
