2012–13 Costa Rican Primera División season
The 2012/13 season included the 99th and the 100th edition of the Primera División de Costa Rica, the Costa Rican highest football league. Invierno 2012 and Verano PROGOL - JPS JPS PROGOL - 2013 - - This season usual two championships were as in recent years played. From the results of both championships a total table was created to determine the relegated to the Liga de Ascenso - Segunda Division. The winners of both championships and the best runner-up qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League 2013 / 14th In Invierno 2012, Alajuela secured the 28th league title in club history; Heredia was won in the Verano 2013 for the 23rd time the championship. Competition mode
The 2012/13 season was divided into two seasons, Invierno 2012 and Verano 2013. The two championships were ausgetragent in the following mode:
- First, the twelve participating teams played in a single round ( round-trip game ) mode FFA the best four teams from.
- These four teams played a home-and -away basis ( 1 to 4, 2 to 3 ) in the semifinals, the two finalists.
- In the final, the two semi-final winners played in return game from the master.
From the final rounds of the championships ( Invierno and Verano ) an overall table was created. The last placed in this rating was in the Liga de Ascenso Segunda División - off.
Special additional rule
- In each squad ( of a maximum of 25 players consisting ) to a maximum of four foreigners are allowed.
Participant
To get back to 12 teams participating, it was in season 2011/12 no direct relegated; the letzplatzierte, Orión FC - Desamparados denied a qualification game against the runner-up of the Liga de Ascenso Segunda División -, AD Carmelita. Second division champions CS Uruguay de Coronado went on directly.
