2012 UCI Juniors Track World Championships

The UCI Track World Junior Championships 2012 (UCI Juniors Track World Championships 2012) took place between 26 August at the ILT Velodrome in Invercargill, New Zealand on 22.

The Velodrome has a 250 meter long track and has 43.2 degree bends. It was planned to the velodrome from Münster architect Ralph Schuermann and executed by Calder Stewart. In May 2006, the only indoor velodrome in New Zealand was opened.

There were about 200 athletes from 23 nations at the start, including any of Germany.

Already on the first day of competition, three new junior world records were set: Lidija Pluschnikowa and Darya Schmeljowa drove new record in the qualification of the team sprint and again see in the final with 34.155 in the team pursuit of the juniors managed the Aussies Georgia Baker, Taylah Jennings and Kelsey Robson in 3:24,372 min, a new best time with an improvement of more than one second. Another world record for the Australian men's team sprint squad could not be recognized because of a faulty.

The most successful athletes in the world championships was the Russian driver Darya Schmeljowa, the movement was not only four gold medals in all short-term disciplines, but also in the 500 -meter time trial and team sprint aufstellte new world records.
