5th Cell

5th Cell is an independently owned, US-based games development company located in Bellevue (Washington). The as 5th Cell Media LLC. Founded by Joseph M. Tringali, Jeremiah Slaczka and Brett Caird company develops video games for the Nintendo DS and Wii.

History

Established in 2003 the company started with the development of mobile games and worked with publishers such as THQ Wireless, JAMDAT Mobile (now EA Mobile) and UIEvolution ( a former subsidiary of Square Enix ) together. On 2 August 2004 THQ Wireless announced that 5th Cell will publish the three mobile games wins, SEAL Team 6 and finally Mini Poccha.

In 2006 the transition began in the Nintendo DS and casual game development. During 5th Cell used to work with licenses, it has now shifted its core to the development of innovative video games. On 21 April 2006 announced 5th Cell that they'll bring out the first Nintendo DS game Drawn to Life. On 1 June 2006 5th Cell announced the partnership with Merscom. 1st May 2009 Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that they will be the publisher of Scribblenauts. On September 15, 2009 Scribblenauts was released in North America, the Australian version will be released on September 30, the European on 9 October. According to the NPD Group sold 194,000 units of 5th Cell Scribblenauts in the United States in September 2009.
