( 9565 ) Tikhonov is an asteroid of the inner main belt, discovered by Soviet astronomer Lyudmila Chernykh on 18 September 1987 at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj (IAU code 095).

The asteroid Vesta is a member of the family, a large group of asteroids, named after ( 4) Vesta, the second largest asteroid and the third-largest celestial body of the main belt. The timeless ( nichtoskulierenden ) orbital elements of ( 9565 ) Tikhonov are almost identical with those of five smaller when one of the absolute brightness of 16.2, 15.7, 16.0, 17.0 and 17.7 against 13.8 emanates, asteroids: (90400) 2003 YS26, ( 98052 ) 2000 RX34, ( 102342 ) 1999 TO120, ( 185010 ) 2006 PR31 and ( 357 534 ) in 2004 RO186.

( 9565 ) Tikhonov was named after the Russian mathematician Andrei Nikolaevich Tikhonov on 24 June 2002.
