A. C. Ewing

Alfred Cyril Ewing ( born May 11, 1899 in Leicester, † May 14 1973 in Manchester ) was a British philosopher.

Ewing studied at University College, Oxford. He taught for four years in Swansea and from 1931 Moral Science at Cambridge. From 1954 he lectured on moral science.

Ewing believed that studying the history of philosophy is important for philosophical practice.

He defended the traditional metaphysics and developed a position that could be described as analytical idealism.

From 1941 to 1942, the president of the Aristotelian Society.
