Aage Haugland

Aage Haugland ( born 1 February 1944 in Copenhagen, † 23 December 2000 Lillerød ) was a Danish opera singer (bass, also bass - baritone) Norwegian descent, especially in the 1980s as an accent interpreter of German (Wagner, Strauss) and Russian parts ( Mussorgsky, Shostakovich ) was in demand internationally, and also Italian rolls ( Verdi) sang.

Haugland studied in Copenhagen and made his debut in 1968 in Oslo. In addition to his more famous colleague Martti Talvela and Matti Salminen he was, due to its powerful and sensual voice as well as his great stage presence, as the most impressive and most versatile Scandinavian bass of his generation.
