Aars Municipality

Aars Kommune was until the end of 2006, a municipality in the Official Nordjylland in northwestern Denmark. The municipality was created in the course of municipal reform of 1970 from the following parish communities:

  • Blære (Town Blære - Ejdrup )
  • Gislum and Vognsild (Town Gislum - Vognsild )
  • Skivum and Giver (Town Skivum - Giver )
  • Gundersted (Town Gundersted )
  • Havbro (Town Havbro )
  • Ulstrup (Town Ulstrup )
  • Aars (Town Års )

The end of 2006, the municipality went Aars, when it was merged with the neighboring municipalities Aalestrup, Farsø and Løgstør for new Vesthimmerland municipality with 38,000 inhabitants.
