Achille Emaná
Achille Emana Edzimbi ( born June 5, 1982 in Yaoundé ) is a Cameroonian football player.
Club career
Emana came in 1999 from his native Cameroon to Spain to Valencia, where he played in the second team. In January 2000 he moved to France to Toulouse FC, who played at that time in Ligue 2, at the end of the season but in the Championnat National, descended the third highest division of the country. The central midfielder was already in his first season, 2001/ 02, a fixture at Toulouse and managed with the club direct promotion back to Ligue 2 is also a play higher class he belonged to the tribe of forces and won with the club the second division championship and could celebrate the walkover in the Ligue 1.
There he was able to establish with the club and achieved the third place in the championship of the 2006/07 season the best result in the history of FC Toulouse. Emana reach that season eight goals in 36 stakes and thus made an important contribution to the achievement of this place. In the following season they failed significantly in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League at Liverpool ( 0-5 on aggregate ). Also in the UEFA Cup 2007/08 was not much better, after two arduous games against the Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia qualified one for the group stage, in which one was eliminated with only three points from four games as a group last.
National team career
Achille Emana came in 2003 with his first appearances for the national team of Cameroon. He participated with the state selection at the Confederations Cup 2003, which was overshadowed by the death of his teammate Marc -Vivien Foe. Emana came during the tournament first in the meaningless final group match against the United States more than 90 minutes to use and came off the bench in the final match against France at the beginning of the extension. After seven minutes into extra time, the Frenchman Thierry Henry scored a golden goal by the winner and therefore Cameroon finished second.
In the Africa Cup 2006 he was in the squad of Cameroon but came during the tournament in only two preliminary round games as a substitute train. The tournament ended for Cameroon after a defeat on penalties against the Ivory Coast. For the African Cup of Nations 2008 Emana was re-appointed to the levy of the Indomitable Lions.
