Adams Township is one of 13 townships of Clinton County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 1901 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Adams Township is located in the west of Clinton County in the mid- southwestern Ohio and bordered clockwise to the townships: Chester Township, Union Township, Washington Township, Vernon Township, Washington Township, Warren County and Massie Township ( Warren County).

History

Adams Township was formed in 1849 from parts of Chester, Vernon and Union townships. It was named after the sixth President of the United States, John Quincy Adams.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk ( responsible for finance and budget), which is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
