Adelbert von Chamisso Prize

The Adelbert von Chamisso Prize of the Robert Bosch Foundation is awarded since 1985 (until 2005, together with the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts since 2006 by the Robert Bosch Foundation alone). The literature prize is awarded to the German language, already published works by authors who are not German language origin, as it was Adelbert von Chamisso. The grand prize is worth 15,000 euros (2007).

In addition, up to two Awards will be granted, in which unpublished texts are taken into account; they are endowed with 7,000 euros.

Since 1997, the Foundation at irregular intervals also gives a ( non-doped ) Ehrengabe for Adelbert von Chamisso Prize to individuals who have worked through their life's work in a special way in the sense of Chamisso Prize.

The announcement of the new price be held annually at the Frankfurt Book Fair. The award ceremony will be held in February in Munich (since 2005 in the Court Church of the Munich Residence, 1985 to 2004 in the ballroom of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts). Since 2009, the winners will be presented in a separate magazine called " Chamisso " which appears to the price.

The fixed term " Chamisso literature " (possibly even neologism ) distinguishes itself from the so-called guest worker literature, it was said at the prize-winners - announced 2007.
