Adele Stolte

Adele Stolte ( born October 12, 1932 in Sperenberg ) is a German oratorio and concert singer ( soprano voice ).

Life

Adele Stolte first attended school in Lübeck, later in Potsdam, where her father was superintendent Conrad Stolte and took over the parish at the Church of Peace. Promotion of Music, she received by Karl Landgrebe and started in 1952 a private vocal studies with Anneliese Bushman in Rostock. 1953 she married the church musician tungsten Iwer. In the following years she developed an increasing concert activity in the GDR and beyond. 1958 saw the first radio recordings with the St. Thomas Boys Choir Leipzig and 1960 to the first recording session, where many more followed, including as a soloist in Bach cantatas under Erhard Mauersberger. In 1964 she founded together with Gerda Schriever, Hans -Joachim Hermann Christian Polster Rotzsch and the quartet " Leipzig Bach Soloists ". 1966 Adele Stolte Board member of the New Leipzig Bach Society. Also in the following years, she has performed at home and abroad, where appearances were only to a limited extent in Western countries. In 1969 she began working as educational, led, inter alia, singing courses in Poland and worked as a vocal coach in choirs. From 1990 to 2005 Adele Stolte has held a teaching position for singing at the College / University of the Arts Berlin and was appointed honorary professor there in 1995. In 1999 she founded the New Chamber Choir Potsdam.

Adele Stolte, whose repertoire includes in addition to a focus on the music of the Baroque and contemporary works, received a number of awards, including the 1962 Edison Music Award and the 1966 Art Prize of the GDR. In 2007 she was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Order of Merit.
