Adolf Frederick, King of Sweden

Adolf Friedrich ( born May 14, 1710 in Gottorp, † February 12, 1771 in Stockholm ) was King of Sweden from 1751 to 1771.

Life

Adolf Friedrich was the second son of Christian of Schleswig -Holstein -Gottorp and his wife Albertine of Baden-Durlach. With the Swedish royal family, he was by his uncle, Frederick IV connected, the brother in law of the Swedish King Karl XII. had.

To boost his popularity, Adolf undertook several journeys through different parts of Sweden, but a power gain over the influential Imperial Council he could not list. Adolf died on February 12, 1771 after a stroke. It is believed that this was a result of digestive problems.
