Adrienne Bolland

Adrienne Bolland ( born November 25, 1895 in Arcueil, † March 18, 1975 in Paris) was a French aviator and test pilot.

Achievements

For the French aircraft manufacturer Caudron she flew on 1 April 1921 in 4 hours and 17 minutes with a Caudron G- III by Mendoza ( Argentina) to Santiago de Chile over the Andes. She was the first woman who made ​​the solo flight across the Andes. When they landed 10 hours after the scheduled flight time in Santiago it was received by many enthusiastic people, but not by the French Consul, who had believed that the company was an April Fool's joke.
