Company History

The company was founded in 1984 by Mike Woodroffe, to act as a publisher for the games by Scott Adams. At this time, Alan Cox worked there. Later Adventure Soft himself began to produce games and made himself especially with his graphic adventures a name.

Early 1990, the company produced under the name Horrorsoft several Adventures, which clearly distinguished by the action and the optical implementation of the following games. This great value was placed on a reminiscent of horror films atmosphere that was generated with appropriately bloody images and appropriate music. These games included Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, Elvira II: The Jaws of Cerberus and the Waxworks.

The adventure game series Adventure Softs Simon the Sorcerer was greatest success and gave them especially in Germany many fans.

After 2002, after many shifts in the third part of the Simon- series was released and was a commercial flop, Adventure Soft opted for a change of image.
