Aero A.102

The Aero A.102 was a prototype of a single-seat fighter aircraft of the Czech company Aero Továrna Letadel Dr. Kabe.

Development

In 1937, a prototype called A.102, powered by a built in license by Walter Gnome -Rhone Mistral engine was at Aero. The machine was very similar to the well-known and successful Polish PZL P.11; as these had also A.102 an airfoil in gull wing shape ( Puławski Wing). The monoplane was to be delivered in series to the Czech Air Force. Ultimately, the decision was made there but for not to put the machine into service, and so it remained in the single copy.

Construction

The Aero A.102 was a single-seat high-wing monoplane with open cockpit and wings in the form of gulls. The wings were braced with N- stems against the hull. The suspension consisted of a main rigid chassis with two independently suspended wheels that were covered streamlined, and a rigid tail skid.
