Aeternus

Aeternus is a Norwegian metal band from Bergen. The music includes stylistic features of Death and Black Metal, the band themselves referred to their style as Dark Metal.

Band History

Ares Aeternus founded in 1993 together with Erik Vrolok. In 1994, the only demo Walk My Path. Ares played up on the drums all instruments. From 1994 to 1997 played Ares and 1996-1998 Vrolok in Gorgoroth.

1995 saw the EP Dark Sorcery. Until 1996, no stable occupation could arrive, until 1996 came with Morrigan (ex Obtained Enslavement ) a solid keyboardist and bass player one. Around this time, the members of Aeturnus signed a contract with Hammerheart Records. Were still influenced by Black Metal the first albums, so it was 1999 Shadows of the Old to turn to Death Metal. The tour took place along with Red Harvest opening for Mayhem.

The debut album Beyond the Wandering Moon appeared in 1997. A tour with Emperor and Limbonic Art followed. Followed in 1998 ... And So the Night Became. The subsequent tour was opening for Deicide. 1999 came with Radek added a second guitarist.

Morrigan got out in 2001 and the band continued as a trio. Ascension of Terror was published in the same year. In 2003 the band signed to the label Nocturnal Art Productions of Emperor member Samoth and there published A Darker Monument. 2006 S. Winter Vrolok replaced on drums. With it, the album was Hexaeon. But winter rose in 2007 from again. His replacement was Terris.
