Life
Æthelric was the son of King Ida of Bernicia. He followed about the year 568 his brother Adda to the throne. After deviating information Æthelric was a son of Adda. When he died in the year 572 by his brother Theodric successor on the throne. Æthelric was the father of Æthelfrith, who also later became king, and ( exact location unknown ) by Theobald, who in the year 603 at the Battle of Daegsastan in an attack of the western Scottish kingdom of Dalriada fell under Aidan.
