Aggersborg

Three squares of four, for a total of 12 longhouses were in each district. They were all built in a north-south or east-west direction. With the 48 longhouses in it could be assumed an occupancy of the castle with about 5,000 men. The shape of the plant is also found on petroglyphs.

There are only the stumps of wood pillars obtained. The slope of the stumps, their placement and dimension, and the shape of Pomerania shrine, a house -shaped reliquary, and house -shaped grave stones in England give an idea for the reconstruction of houses. They had a curved roof ridge and curved sides. They were 32.5 m long and 8.5 m wide with a smaller width at the ends. They needed for a home to 66 large oak trees. Overall, one needed for the houses and the wall around the large oak trees 5000.

In many ancient archaeological finds unearthed, amongst imported luxury goods came. So in the largest mountain crystal beads and pieces of glass jugs were found. In a post hole clamped together a gold bracelet was found, a copy of which is shown here and is to be seen in the museum at the plant.

The plant was the Limfjord, which was open to both sides of the sea for ships. Moreover, it was at one of the army way through Jutland. It is strategically located at a traffic junction, east-west by the Limfjord, North-South on Military Road. But it is not clear whether there is a center of power to control the trade or a barracks and training camps in conjunction with Svend Tvæskeggs plundering to England at Aggersborg.

Aelnoth, a cleric in Odense, early 12th century wrote of a rebellion in 1086 against Knut d saints, with Aggersborg was looted. At that time the castle was therefore still in use (Ref.: Arbmann ). On the other hand, it is also doubtful that in this written mention of the castle is meant. It is also represented that there had to acted as a younger royal court (Lit.: Roesdahl ). It was in 1945, from 1947 to 1948 unearthed.

The facility expires increasingly, along with a stud farm there was even drafted into the circle segments.
