Agios Kosmas Olympic Sailing Centre

In Agios Kosmas Olympic Sailing Centre (Greek Ολυμπιακό Κέντρο Ιστιοπλοϊας Αγίου Κοσμά ) found the sailing competitions held at the 2004 Summer Olympics and at the Paralympic Summer Games in Athens in 2004. Under the name of Agios Kosmas Marina the center according to the competitions has been extended to one of the largest and most luxurious marinas in the Mediterranean.

The regatta harbor is located in the Athens suburb of Elliniko in southern Attica on the coast of the Saronic Gulf. To the north lies the Faliro Coastal Zone Olympic Sports Complex and south of the coastal resort of Glyfada, one of the most elegant suburbs of Athens. The distance of the sailing center to the Athens city center is 12 kilometers away, the Olympic village 35 km. Construction was completed on 31 January 2004. The official opening took place on 2 August 2004, 11 days before the start of the games. Post-Olympic use

As Agios Kosmas Marina the center for post-Olympic use was expanded into one of the most attractive locations for leisure and tourism in the Athens coastal region. In the final stage, to be completed in 2009, the marina will have a total area of ​​424 868 m², 16 423 m² of a development area and a living area of ​​8,945 m². Facilities include offices, multi-purpose halls for culture and sports, a waterfront restaurant, a cafeteria, a snack bar, medical facilities, a gas station and a parking area for 1,000 vehicles. The center also offers 30 luxurious rooms and meeting rooms. In addition, the site will be expanded to a nature reserve.
