Agostino Roscelli

Agostino Roscelli ( born July 27, 1818 in Bargone, fraction of Casarza Ligure, Italy, † May 7, 1902 in Genoa, Italy ) was an Italian priest, founder of the order, and Holy.

Life

Roscelli Agostino, who came from a poor family, spent his youth as a shepherd. With the financial support he was able to study in Genoa and was ordained a priest in 1846. He was parish priest of San Martino d' Albaro and eight years later, in Genoa. In 1872, Agostino Roscelli served as chaplain of the local orphanage. At the same time he was pastor prisoners and took special care of the man condemned to death. In addition Agostino founded a school for young women. To take care of this and other projects, he founded the Institute of the Sisters of the Immaculate (it.: Immaculate Conception Suore called Immacolatine ).

Agostino Roscelli was beatified and canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1995 on 10 June 2001. His feast day in the liturgy is May 7
