Agustín Pavó

Agustín Pavo ( born May 28, 1962) is a retired Cuban sprinter who specialized in the 400 -meter run.

Sporting successes

His greatest sporting success came Pavo at the World Athletics Championships 1987 in Rome, when he won the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 meters relay together with Leandro Peñalver, Lázaro Martínez and Roberto Hernández. In national record time of 2:59,16 min, the Cuban quartet only the U.S. team led by Butch Reynolds ( 2:57,29 min) and the Season of Great Britain by Roger Black ( 2:58,86 min) was defeated.

Pavo also won with Héctor Herrera, Jorge Valentin Martínez and the gold medal in the 4 x 400 - meter relay at the Pan American Games in 1991 in Havana.
