Ak Orda Presidential Palace

The Ak -Orda Presidential Palace ( Kazakh Ақ Орда, Russian Ак Орда ) is the official seat of the current Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It is located in the Kazakh capital Astana on the banks of the Ishim River, right on the eastern end of the Water - Green Boulevard, where there is also the Bajterek Tower, the landmark of the city is located. The building was officially presented after three years of construction on December 24, 2004 by Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Description

The monumental government buildings was built by reinforced concrete. The facade made ​​of Italian marble is mainly determined by the large windows. The exterior finish with marble is between 20 and 40 centimeters thick. On the roof of the building is a large blue and gold dome closes on which a golden tip is attached. On the upper end of this tip is a golden sun with 32 rays of the sun; also it includes a steppe eagle, which is located with outstretched wings beneath the sun. These two symbols are also found on the Kazakh flag again. At the level of the fifth floor of the Kazakh national coat of arms can be seen on the roof and about a flagpole with the Kazakh flag is mounted.

The total height of the tip is 80 meters. The Ak -Orda Palace consists of five storeys, of which the ground floor has a height of ten meters and the remaining four are only five feet tall.

Inside the palace is located on the ground floor the large foyer. It covers equipped with granite floor an area of ​​1,800 square meters. The first floor of the building includes a ballroom for official events of the president, a press conference room and a conservatory. The second floor is fully utilized as office space. In the third floor, there are several rooms for different occasions. One of these rooms is the Marble Hall. A further is the Golden Hall, which is used for non-public meeting the President of Kazakhstan with foreign guests. In the fourth floor there is the domed hall for meetings of summits of the President of Kazakhstan with representatives of the ministries and agencies, political parties, movements and intellectuals of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There is also a conference room and a meeting room, a library and other offices.

  • The term Ak Orda comes from the oriental name of the first State in today's Kazakh territory. It refers to the White Horde.
