Akaki Khubutia

Akaki Khubutia ( born March 17, 1986 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian football player.

Club career

Khubutia started his professional career in Lithuania FC Zvezda- BGU Minsk. He stayed five years in Lithuania, during this time he played for FBK Kaunas, FK Šilutė and FC Vilnius. 2009 saw the Georgians to Romania Gaz Metan Medias to. With the team Khubutia managed at the end of the 2010/11 season to qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

In summer 2011, the club loaned him out. He was transferred for a season in Turkey to Samsunspor. Samsunspor has a purchase option for the defender. After the club was relegated to the TFF 1 Lig, the purchase option was not taken.
