Al Buraimi Governorate

The government (Arabic محافظة, DMG muḥafaẓa ) al - Buraimi (Arabic محافظة البريمي, DMG muḥafaẓa al - Buraimi ) is a province (administrative region ) in the north- west of the Sultanate of Oman. At the census of December 21, 2010, the area had a population of 72 917, a decrease compared to the 76.838 to the census of 7 December 2003. Surface of the area covers over 7,000 square kilometers.

The province is administratively subdivided into three districts ( wilayat ) Al Buraymi, Mahada and As Sunayah. The city is the capital of Buraimi Governorate.

By October 2006 the area was part of the region Az- Zahirah.
