Al Green
Al Green ( born April 13 Born in 1946 in Forrest City, Arkansas as Albert Greene ) is an American singer and preacher.
Green began his career as a singer at the age of nine years as a member of the gospel group of his father, the "Green Brothers". In the early 1960s he founded along with Curtis Rogers and Palmer Jones, the group " Al Green And The Creations". The Creations changed their name into "Soul Mates " and ended with the song Back Up Train 1968 a top 5 hit.
Al Green met in 1969, the producers of " Hi Records ", Willie Mitchell. With him came greens first number -one hit Tired Of Being Alone. The album Al Green Gets Next To You (1970 ) reached gold status. The next album Let's Stay Together in 1972 was also a huge success; The title song reached the Top 10 in the same year appeared the album I'm Still In Love With You, followed in 1973 by the album Call Me with the top 10 singles Here I Am, Call Me and Sha -La -La - Make me Happy.
