Al Green

Al Green ( born April 13 Born in 1946 in Forrest City, Arkansas as Albert Greene ) is an American singer and preacher.

Green began his career as a singer at the age of nine years as a member of the gospel group of his father, the "Green Brothers". In the early 1960s he founded along with Curtis Rogers and Palmer Jones, the group " Al Green And The Creations". The Creations changed their name into "Soul Mates " and ended with the song Back Up Train 1968 a top 5 hit.

Al Green met in 1969, the producers of " Hi Records ", Willie Mitchell. With him came greens first number -one hit Tired Of Being Alone.
