Alabama Shakes
Alabama Shakes are an American rock band that moves somewhere between Southern rock and blues. The band was founded in 2009 in Athens, Alabama, singer Brittany Howard and bassist Zac Cockrell. Later, guitarist Heath Fogg and drummer Steve Johnson were added.
In September 2011 the band Alabama Shakes EP released four songs. Shortly after Alabama Shakes was recorded by MTV in the list of the eleven observed in 2012 bands.
In November 2011, the band signed with Rough Trade Records in the UK and with ATO Records in the United States. The first full album was released with Boys & Girls on April 6, 2012.
On the soundtrack of the American dramedy Silver Linings 2012 Alabama Shakes are represented entitled Always Alright.
