Alan Rubin

Alan Rubin ( born February 11, 1943 in New York City; † 8 June 2011, ibid, also known as " Mr. Fabulous ", was an American musician, he played the trumpet, flugelhorn and piccolo trumpet..

Rubin was a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music. He was a member of the Saturday Night Live Band, with this he played in 1996 at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games. He was also a member of the Blues Brothers, he was a performer of "Mr. Fabulous " in the film Blues Brothers 1980, also in the sequel Blues Brothers 2000.

Rubin has played with a variety of artists, including Frank Sinatra, Frank Zappa, Duke Ellington, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Eumir Deodato, Sting, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Frankie Valli, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, BB King, Miles Davis, Yoko Ono, Peggy Lee, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Dr. John. He died in June 2011 at the Memorial Sloan -Kettering Cancer Center in New York City of lung cancer.
